MOBLIE TRAUMA UNIT
The MTU is designed to respond quickly to areas of Brooklyn where violent incidents have occurred.

The Mobile Trauma Unit (MTU), a critical component of the Crisis Management System for New York City, is operated by Brownsville Think Tank Matters Inc. The MTU’s mission is to provide immediate, on-the-ground support to communities throughout Brooklyn that have experienced incidents of violence or trauma. As part of the New York City Crisis Management System, the MTU works in coordination with other community-based organizations, law enforcement, and public health entities to provide a coordinated and effective response to violence. We are an integral part of a citywide effort to reduce violence and promote peace within our neighborhoods.
-
Support for Healing and Recovery:
The MTU doesn’t just focus on immediate needs but also supports long-term healing and recovery for individuals and communities impacted by violence. We offer trauma-informed care, including counseling services and community resources, to help people process their experiences and rebuild their lives.
-
Community Empowerment and Safety:
In addition to offering direct support to those affected by violence, the MTU also works proactively to promote community safety and empowerment. We provide outreach and educational programs designed to reduce the occurrence of violence and improve the overall well-being of individuals and families in Brooklyn.
